Title: all-in-one, network printer/scanner/fax
Post by: iMav on Sat, 26 January 2008, 05:13:50
I'm looking for an all-in-one printer/scanner/copier/fax for my home office.

I need this device to be fully functional via the network (scanning and printing) from both OS X (leopard) and the nasty (http://www.microsoft.com/windows).

I do not need photo printing quality, but would prefer the ability to print in color on occassion (however, I would strongly consider B&W offerings as long as the other requisite funtionality is rock solid).

Anyone have a good recommendation that would meet my criteria?

Well.  Multiple people from six different online forums emphatically recommended this unit (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16828102258).

That's good enough for me!

Dude, go with it. I am looking into a high-quality USB B&W to use with my AirPort, so that is the extent of my knowledge base.

Hmm, no duplexer.  Expensive consumables.  B/W text will almost certainly be inferior. How often do you need to print color anyway?  Maybe a small B/W laser MFP would be better?

I'm still open to suggestions. :)

I was going to get a small laser, but then: http://blogs.zdnet.com/BTL/?p=5841

FYI, I pulled the trigger on the Cannon Pixma MX700.

I'll let you know my impressions once I received it and kick it around a bit (ordered from NewEgg).
