Hello everyone,
My MoBo PS/2 port does not recognize keyboards after I have connected an old M2 DIN keyboard using an adaptor. Could that have caused an mechanical or electrical problem to the port ?
Any suggestion is welcome...

just an idea... old keyboards draw much more current (amperage). Some mobo companies try to keep the ps2 specs (at least for some families), others don't. Out of curiosity, is it asrock?

hi,
it is ASUS, however the problem is that native PS/2 keyboards dont work no more....

Theoretically it is possible to fry PS/2 controller by connecting a faulty keyboard to it. But I'd try checking (and maybe resetting) BIOS settings before writing the motherboard off.
