Title: What kind of adapter?
Post by: histevenhere on Mon, 11 March 2013, 18:28:55
Hi, I purchased a numpad that has these adapters. I'm not sure what kind and if there are usb converters for these type of connectors.
I was wondering if anyone could offer any info on this.
Here's a picture .

Those look a lot like adapters for configuring network switches and such, to use a serial console as some network switches and servers (Sunfires for example) used an RJ45 cable running on the serial protocol for configuration.

Best choice to convert old serial numpad to usb would to replace the controller.

I am not really trying to hijack this thread, but I have a nice little numpad with a connector that looks like a male headphone jack.

Has anybody used one like that?
