Hi There GH.
I am looking for a Ducky Shine 2, Filco Majestouch-2 or Das Keyboard (All blue switches) :D
since my old keyboard is half retired, i've decided to buy a new one and i've heard loads of positivity about GH.
As for myself, I've been using the Logitech g15 for about 5 years now, and it dying on me, I really need a new keyboard!
- Price ~ 120 USD
- Tenkeyless US (except Das)
- Cherry MX Blue Switch Keys
That being said, peace out!
-
Any tips? :)
-
You've only had the post open for a few minutes! Relax! :p
MJ2 might be out of your price range but I really like mine. I really hate the finish on the Das keyboard, it's a fingerprint magnet. I've never tried the Ducky so I'm not sure about that one. Does the keyboard have to be full-sized?
-
Hey and thanks for the reply :p
Been searching around the forums and i have seen some sweet keyboards!
oh yeah and about the price range i totally misscalculated something right there! should've been 190 usd - approximately as 110 GBP.
i really like the nice touch around the filco, and i've read only positve about it!
Same about Das.
Ducky got some nice aaccessories though, like light effects.
Basically i am a SC2 fanatic and after i held my friends keyboard i was hooked!
-
I dont really like blue switches for sc2. The reset time is pretty slow. Blues are okay for the average rts player unless you prefer double tapping. but browns and reds are better for rts + typing. Blacks are nice for gaming but not so much for typing.
-
I play SC2 on blues, it doesnt bother me that much but its definitely a preference thing.
-
Read something on http://deskthority.net/wiki/Cherry_MX_Red about them a while ago.
they seem to be okay, but i really like the blues.
-
Hey man! Welcome to GH!!! go to this site www.elitekeyboards.com and check out their leopold selection for tenkeylesses. I think the keyboard you want is what mine is, which is a black letterless(otaku) keyboard outfitted with cherry mx blues. Their build quality is comparable to filcos (dont get angry filco fans, I said comparable, not the same), plus you can pick one up for around 100 USD if you live in the states.
-
Sadly i don't live in the US!
but i might note them and they look almost as what i've been looking for!
Found some filco's on amazon.co.uk estimated price 150 GBP...
-
Oh, sucks for you, but there are many places where you can find some great leopolds across the pond, I forget the site name, but they sell them there.
-
Do you know a site for keycaps to the leopold one ? :p
-
Oh yah, there are several, none come to mind, however, just look up "Otaku keycaps" several should come up. If you're desperate, order some wasd ones, pretty pricey though.
-
Reds were my favorite for a while. I sold my red and blue keyboards so I qm stuck with brown and black. For 190 USD I think you could try out two or three tebkeyless keyboards. For example cm storm quickfire rapid is around 55Usd. Reds are worth trying. I had reds and blues at obe point and switching between them helps touch typing a lot.
Leopold has cherry stabilizers right? There are two types of cherry stabilizers. Imo the cherry stabilizer with a stabilizer bar is nicer than costar but the cherry stabilizer without the stabilizer bar kinda stinks. Cherry stabz are more convenient b/c you dont have to deal with the white stabilizer nubs when taking the keys off.
Maybe a litte vauge. I would post pictures and stuff but I am currently on my phone

The Keyboard Company are your best bet here in Europe. That said, I'm afraid you're limited to either a filco, or some "gaming" keyboard. Well, maybe duckys are imported in the Nordic countries.
-
You've made no mention of which layout you are looking for.
ISO / ANSI
EN / DK?
You might regret the purchase, if you forget to consider these first!
-
Well the layout doesn't matter, as most of my studies are English :) but for a tenkeyless Ansi would be pref.

Made this on WASD a while ago, but i honestly fell "in love" with the tenkeyless :p
-
If you're looking for a beginner TKL, get a QFR. Everyone will recommend the same thing :P
-
Well :-\
-
I had a qfr, didnt regret it. I am guessing you want to start off with a bang. Nothing wrong with qfr at all. Great kb. I had blues on mine.
-
Oh yeah, the qfr, that was what I was going to get, although if your hands are up to the challenge, u may want to check out the green version
-
QFR is a great keyboard, and since you do want Cherry MX Blues they're normally relatively cheap on amazon. I got mine for $65 not too long ago, love the keyboard. Currently about $70.
-
Been searching and found loads of danish websites with it! :D
it costs around 600 dkk equals 55 usd
-
that is a good good price, even for a qfr. nice find, and again, QFRs look cool.
-
QFR will be your best bet, at that price, you almost can't go wrong really.
-
I'll sell you a gently used Ducky YoTD with blues and a grab/crap fill of keycaps for $120 plus shipping. Heck, I'll even throw in a blue techflexed usb cable.
-
Can you send me a Pic of it? would like to see it :D
-
QFR, i'll look forward to see you on my desk :p
-
Btw i would still love to buy your Ducky mate :)
