Hey,
As you can see i've 2 questions :)
First,
Check out this video:
Is Brown really this noisy or is it the video? If they are, are reds quiter?
I'm ordering a new keyboard tomorrow and trying to decide between Filco and Ducky, some says Ducky's are great others say Filco's are top notch. Can you help me on that if you used them both?
I'm either buying,
http://www.cclonline.com/product/92970/DK9087G2P-BUKPLW/Keyboards/Ducky-G2-Pro-Mechanical-Keyboard/KBD0503/
which looks very pretty, especially white caps on black.
or
getting the Filco tenkeyless cherry brown..or red still couldn't decide.
Thank you

That's the sound of the keys bottoming out.
Edit: And I would personally go with the Filco since I'm not a big fan of LED backlighting.

To answer your question:
1. Yes red is slightly quieter but not by much.
2. Personally I'd go with Filco.
MX Brown
MX Red

The only noise you hear from mx browns is the bottom-out, and when the keys spring back up.
Filco and the newer duckies are pretty much on part in terms of quality. Their internals are very similar.

Between the two, I prefer Ducky for the Cherry stabilizers.
-
Lol I actually picked Filco because of Costar stabilizers. I guess it's a preference type of thing.

Un-dampened with orings... blue brown black red mx, are all pretty loud.. because of the clack noise when it bottoms out, and the Dchat-- noise when it rebounds.. the 'D' is silent when pronouncing "dchat'
with orings, the red brown and black are quiet on the down stroke, but then you still have the upstroke which remains undampened.. Though if you want to argue, that since the oring reduces travel, technically, the upstroke has less energy and thus is ALSO dampened... well then you'd just be right.. but yea so you see..

no it's cuz costar is better because it's less sensitive to alignment.
cherry is problematic because if there is any misalignment, you get a mushy-friction-ee feeling at the bottom

Honestly, I'd go with whatever one is cheaper.

Pbc mounted kbs seem to make less noise. Cherry stabz seem to also make less noise.

CFR with no branding.
