Title: mod keys with wrist/palm?
Post by: automator on Fri, 22 March 2013, 17:29:47
I've been thinking about non standard keyboard designs and trying to learn whats out there already...

Has there been any designs that use the wrist or palm instead of a finger to do mod keys or layer switching?

I've seen a Kinesis Advantage modded to have an arcade button under each palm.

I sometimes press Ctrl with my palm on ordinary keyboards, but I don't think it's a big deal (maybe I'm just clumsy, though).

I am trying to cook up something to allow shifting with thumbs.

And also to do shift/alt/OS/ctrl with thumbs.

Then I would be in heaven.   Aaaaaah....

just do it with kinesis, if you need more buttons, go mod happy.

i currentlyhave my left thumb for backspace/shift

and right thumb enter/space

made the right ctrl into del and all is good.

Don't you need shift mirrored on both sides?
