Title: Ducky DK9008 Shine 2 with MX White switches??
Post by: kelske on Sun, 24 March 2013, 15:18:37
Check this out, seems to be added to their catalogue on the 19th Mar:

Cherry MX White switches (modern ones, Milk switches?)! Did some reading and it sounds like these are very very similar to the MX Greens, but with a lesser clickyness.

Thoughts? Sounds quite interesting to me  :D

Yeah, according to ripster's switch guide, it's just called a soft click switch, the KBT pure's that mechanicalkeyboards.com is getting also have MX whites,  I was wondering how I'd like them.

Yeah, MK's had them for a couple days now. I bought a Ducky Shine 2 w/ whites from them and got it earlier in the week myself.

Could you describe how the switch feels and sounds?

It pretty much feels and sounds as described in general. They're like MX blues with the same heaviness as greens, but a dampened click. You can definitely feel the tactility and the click is just like a "click" whereas with blues it's more like a "click CLACK". Even though they are supposed to be as heavy as greens, they don't actually feel that heavy. Like when I type on this vs my Ducky Shine II w/ blacks, I don't notice the stiffness with the whites as much as the blacks (probably because the blacks are linear). When I type on blacks it feels like I'm hitting a wall in comparison. I definitely like the feeling of these Cherry MX Whites and when I use it for gaming I feel like I can double tap on this pretty fast and without any problems (League of Legends).

I would've gone into detail about this earlier, but I was at work still :P
