How do the lubed browns feel compared to unlubed browns? I've used unlubed browns before and didn't really like the feel of them.

A lot of people have said it's like day and night, and if you don't like browns but still want a small tactile feedback, it's worth it to give lubed browns a shot.

If I remember correctly, lubed browns has little to no tactile left.. :(

I'm a bit bothered that the mini stabilizer is broken, how and where could you install a new one?
Probably would have bought it already if not.

Since these use cherry stabs, you can find donor boards or ask around for one. It is a little tedious to replace as you might have to desolder the entire board, but since it is the spacebar you might get away with just desoldering the bottom two rows just so you have enough room top pop out the stabs and replace them with new ones, either way you will need soldering abilities.

Which I neither have the skills or equipment to do :/

But depending on the severity of the damage, the keyboard could work perfectly without needing to fix it.

you can replace a cherry corp stab on the spacebar without desoldering anything. the fix takes like 2 minutes. and i should know  :p i preformed this fix last week to save my custom poker.

for the fix check out this thread:

http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=41718.0

so whoever buys this... it is easy to fix and this mini is a badass keyboard.

Except that your plate supported plate-mount Cherry stabs, and the KMAC Mini plate only supports PCB-mount stabs. I'm afraid it's not going to be that easy to fix.

I didn't really get how to remove the stabilizers from that thread anyway.

They are mostly used for function row F1 to F10 but you can actually program them all to your needs.

That's not correct, tricheboars. This board has PCB mount stabs, IIRC. Getting to those under the plate may not be easy.

pcb mount? why? do people actually find that preferable?

In my experience so far. They absoulutely suck. The space-bar doesn't work properly from certain angles and the right-shift on my keyboard gets stuck when i press it too hard.  :'(

Today I decided to remove all the stabilizers on the Kmac mini execpt for the one on the spacebar. To do it I had to cut some parts of them because the wires made it impossible to remove them. The keyboard feel way better now and it doesn't make noise when pressing those modifiers.

When I  arrived to the spacebar I was looking for the reason that was making it NOISY and it was the wire out of place so I put it back in the right place. It is really easy to do that on the spacebar and I can say it is the only one that you can remove and put it again without desoldering.

So people buy this keyboard without any worries because you would be able to install another stabilizers without problems in less than 5 minutes.

 :D

so can you install plate mounted cherry corp stabs on this now?

KMAC only uses Cherry PCB mount stabilizers. KMAC plates aren't designed for any plate mounted stabilizers.

I guess someone could redesign the plate.
