I've just noticed gigabyte have put the product page up for their mechanical keyboard, it's here (http://www.giga-byte.co.uk/Products/Keyboard/Products_Overview.aspx?ClassValue=Keyboard&ProductID=2789&ProductName=GK-K8000).
Highlights include some amusing engrish, a built in 2 channel soundcard and a single USB port.
It's got a picture of a black cherry keyswitch but it's unmounted.

That pic might not mean too much: The page for Das II has a picture like that and we all know they come with the Cherry blue switches.
You're just gonna need to buy one and let us know ;)

i noticed they found an innovative solution to the age-old debate about how the enter and backslash keys should be.

I can't find the backslash.

I hadn't noticed that but it does seem to use the same layout as this (http://www.notestation.com/left_mirrored_v1_ps2.htm). I wonder if they'll use the same translation to UK layout (http://www.keyboardco.com/keyboard_details.asp?PRODUCT=166)?

Click on the very top picture (the one that enlarges), it has the typical 104 US layout.

look very closely at the backslash and enter keys on the gigabyte...
-
Wow, that makes perfect sense... to a madman.
-
OK, has there been any word of price yet?
-
$113 USD (http://news.softpedia.com/news/Gigabyte-Enters-High-End-Gaming-Market-Takes-Over-Razer-81090.shtml). There's also a picture in that article showing it using a more normal US layout alongside one showing the other layout.

There are more pics in my blog.

Did your sample version have the black cherries?
