Title: My USB converter wont work!
Post by: CarrotTrees on Wed, 27 March 2013, 18:22:33
I just got a new IBM KB-9910, my computer doesnt have a PS/2 input so I got the converter and its not working, yet it works when I plug it into an old computer with a PS/2 input. Do I need a driver for this keyboard?

Those dumb convert do not work. The keyboard have to support usb native in the controller firmware for those. You need an active converter like this one (http://www.idinnovations.com/usb%20adaptors.html). Active converter have circuits to make a translation from speaking PS/2 to speaking USB which is what is needed for old PS/2 only keyboard.
