The only use I can think of for this is to entertain my dog. Think it can carry a small toy hanging off the bottom?

It depends! The battery life would probably go down much quicker!

Lol I crashed mine into a tree trying to scare some crows yesterday. It fell maybe 20ft and one of the blades snapped, but it's OK because of the extra blades.

How easy are they to fly the first time, with no previous experience?

John

I picked mine up today without ever flying one and after a couple shots at it I had it down. Moving left/right and forward/backward took a little longer, but now I can fly it throughout my doorways and stairs :)

battery...................

many people put in an easy swap mechanism... so they have a constant chain of batteries.. and this reduces battery wear significantly because it gives it time to cool.

Would you know where I could find more in depth how to do this?

OK, crash time. Anyone know a source for spare parts?

Thanks

When you find one, I need a new motor for mine also. Haven't been able to find a place to sell the parts unless I'm looking wrong. Did you get the part numbers in the manual though?

Hi, Guys. Recently friend gave me a red Hammerhead Pro-Series, 4 channel. Enjoying! I know I will need a new li-poly 3.7 battery eventually. I know NOTHING about such things. Can I just order generic 3.7 bat from a hobby shop or can I go up a notch in power or longevity? If so, what do I ask for?

Thanks for any help!

Welcome to Geekhack!

about the barreries, there's a few things that determine. The first is the voltage, which is dependant on battery chemistry. Replace a lithium ion with another lithium ion, and you sholud be okay.

Secondly, there's the form factor (the size and shape). If the battery is too large, it won't fit! if it's too small it probably won't ahve enough capacity to work

Lastly, there's other electrical issues like the "c factor" which is related to the amount of current (and power) the battery can output. you can damage your batteries, or set them on fire if you try to draw too much current from them in your helicopter.

If it's in a standard size (like CR2, 17670, etc) then it's relatively easy to order replacements, but many batteries are just the cell in a small protective baggie. Ordering replacements for these is harder to find one that are the right size/shape.

Anyway, I don't know any specifics about what cells these take (technically, it's a "cell", and a "battery" has multiple "cells") or whatever, but what I said should hold true for cells in general.

Thank you, Dorkvader, I'll paste that data into a file. I'm having terrible time navigating this forum. Took me half a day to even find my post and see if anybody replied. When I click, "Show new replies to your posts," it doesn't indicate anybody responded to my question. I could only find you by typing my username into the search engine.

I haven't been into this hammerhead, but when I look at battery I'm hoping it'll have some kind of serial number on it. All I know is 3.7 volt and heli type is 4 channel micro. Would that be enough for a hobby shop I wonder.

CAn you tell me proper way to find responses to my questions?  Your kindness appreciated.

What I normally do is click on the "go to latest unread post" square to the left of the topic title. You can also subscribe to threads you're interested in.

Thanks, Vader...

I clicked on the square left of "HammerHead Pro Series Helicopter," and it didn't take me anywhere. That is the topic title, right? How about another clue? Just don't see any other squares that work either.

I went into the HammerHead this afternoon ...scary. Anyway, this was written on the battery:

SHINDA 120325
602025 18 OMah

Will that do me any good on a hobby site towards locating appropriate battery for Hammerhead Pro?

Comments appreciated.

Sorry, I think I misread the battery.

It's a Shida, not Shinda. Shida Corporation in China.

602025P

Also, I think it's 180 mAH.

I see no one selling this battery.  What would my next step be? Help appreciated.

Unfortunately, Gupgup, you have a good looking machine with no support, no service, no spare parts sold, and no company contact on this continent. I'm still trying to find a compatible battery. Good luck. I'm going Syma next time around.

I got a syma yesterday. It is awesome. I also got two kits of spare parts with it. I am very pleased.

For $20, I would definitely do it again. I've easily got my money's worth out of it and I don't plan on spending a ton for one. If it breaks, it breaks. Oh well!

Moneywise, you're quite right, Gupgup. And mine was a gift. Still, the Hammerhead is such a beautiful machine I felt it's a shame to chunk it for an unreplaceable battery. Maybe a Syma 150 mah would work but just can't any 'techweenies' to confirm it. Syma is a step lower on the aesthetics. Sigh. See ya!
