I play it by myself all the time, but playing with my bothers or my roomate is definitely better. I think the game has merit playing alone. Still, you may be better served by playing a different RPG like Oblivion (not sure about skyrim, missalaire hasn't posted skyrim deals in a while, so I still haven't played it)

Long story short: I think it's still worth it.
