Title: AT101W
Post by: muguts on Sat, 30 March 2013, 23:59:29
just found a black dell at101w with black alps at the thrift shop for $1.60

does this keyboard hold any value, i've typed on it and actually like it a lot, but its pretty large. if it's worth anything i'll try to get rid of it but if not i'll hang on to it as I'm sure i could find a use for it

Damn, $1.60 is a crazy good find, 'grats ^__^

You should do this mod (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=9542.0) with your board. I believe the Dell AT101's are pretty cheap on eBay.

Hehehe...:P

OP, you should just keep the board imo.  Black alps aren't the most desirable switch around here...but they are fun to type on!

If you like it, good for you. I got mine in terrible shape, and it felt awfully gritty.

I'd stay away from this keyboard. I got one off Ebay from a guy who said it was in good condition. As it turned out, it was in terrible condition and the buttons were all sticky like someone spilled cola all over it.

Just because you got one in crappy condition he should stay away from all 101W keyboards? What kind of logic is that?

Yeah, I should probably retract that statement.

What I meant to say was that make sure you know what you are getting. Most of these used keyboards are not what they advertise. Caveat Emptor as they say...

yeah well i dont know if any of that applies, i already bought it for $1.60, so even if it was a bag of dog turds, i wouldn't be that upset, and it's not something i'm speculating.. i already have it lol
