Ive been wondering why people go to the pain of swapping out full spring sets to get these 52g springs in them.... Whats so special?

From what I heard that Korean springs are measured by bottom out force while the cherry springs are measured by activation force.
Can't remember where 52g sits but I'm assuming it's for people who want an experience lighter or heavier than MX Red depends on which spring you got. In essence it provide "sub steps" for the in between force that cherry MX currently does not have.

I'm not sure if anyone is using 52g, but I'm using gold 62g Korean springs. For myself, I like something that's more tactile than browns, but clear switches are too heavy. If you swap out the clear springs of MX Clears for lighter springs, you have Ergo Clears, which are quite a bit more tactual than stock clears or browns. Assuming you don't have to desolder anything, which is the case with my board, swapping springs is a breeze.

on the Korean Spring Scale, 52g springs are VERY light -- lighter than Reds (Reds and Browns are equivalent to ~60g korean springs) because Korean springs are based on the weight at which they bottom out, as opposed to actuation weight which is what Cherry measures. People who are really weak are perfect for 52g springs (I personally have never heard of 52g springs. I've heard of 62, 65, 55, and 45g Korean springs.

About the same. possibly smoother. Korean springs are more aimed at people who have heavy switches but want light switches with the stem qualities of the heavier switches.
