Seems like there isn't too much wrong with it. Not sure which switch it uses, but for the price you can rip it apart for them.

Another keyboard, looks like blacks.
-
That Blackwidow has blue switches (if you zoom in on one of the pictures you see it says it on the back of the packaging)
-
#2 has blacks, and appears smilar to other WYSE/Link/etc keyboards. This means "wyse" type doubleshots from SP, etc.
This one is similar to the keyboard for the wy-60, I think.
Picture is blurry, and keycaps are dirty, but I don't see that much yellowing.

So is anybody else going for this? 15 bucks for ~100 switches that might work isn't a bad price at all, and i've been looking for an easy project as of late.

+$15 sh

I am currently going for the Reynolds and Reynolds one!
-
I may load my sniper rifle and take a shot. I have a feeling if you do a complete resolder of this board it will work fine. I also have a friend that loves razor who this would be a nice upgrade for.

100% guarantee that it will close higher than $15. It's not a BIN. I'm guessing it'll close around $50 to either one of use that want it just to desolder the switches, or go to a newb that will overpay and keep it as a main keyboard instead of harvesting switches.

Apologies to your friend, but I'm in need of some switches. This wasn't a bad deal for the price. You (or whoever was trying the last few seconds) got close. xoxoxoxo
Also, thanks OP!!!

I completely forgot to bid, got busy planning the honeymoon and then it turned into an argument about BS so *shrug*
About $30 for a bunch of blues is a pretty good deal I'd say.

Are we all in agreement that the reynolds and reynolds is mine? :p
I wanna see if I can get it working again :D
Gupgup

Hah, I tried to get the BW. Oh well. It would have been a fun little project to try to get it working again. It did go for a damn good price.
-
damn, i needed blue switches, i didn't expect this to go for so cheap
-
lol wtf? It only closed at $18 +$15 shipping. I didn't think it would end so low either, otherwise I would have gotten it just for the switches. I guess that goes to show you the "value" of this keyboard. That seller got owned, only get ~$20 from it lol
-
I'll sell it to you for $50! ;-)
-
I missed your earlier post, but it was you that ripped the guy off?! haha nice...
-
I didn't bid either lol. Mostly forgot, partially apathy.
-
Heheh. Probably just some dry solder joints. If it was me I would simply fix and flip.
-
Whoa, didn't know this existed. I just got one today for free. Sold a local guy my Rosewill RK-9000RE because he shorted out his Blackwidow Ultimate with tea or something. So, I asked him for it and he just gave it to me for free :D Was attempting to salvage the switches... desoldering those LED's is one hell of an annoying task... Need to use thin desoldering wick.
If anyone knows how to fix these things, please feel free to leave me some tips. I used aquakeytest to see if it was working and the moment I press any button, aquakeytest tells me that that Caps lock and a handful of other switches are constantly being registered and won't stop until I just pull it out.
-
Sounds like the controller is fried I would just finish disassemble. F*ck using wick to take all the switches off, go to radioshack and buy the $12 desoldering iron and a couple extra tips for it.

Lol! Yessir~ I believe I'm going to go with a Edsyn Soldapullt tho. Having a discussion about desoldering methods and that seems to be the vote :P Thanks for the tipz, bro!
A noob question though~ Why does one need to purchase extra tips for desoldering irons and pumps??? Does the hot temperature deform the metal/plastic over time?
-
The ones from radioshack desolder iron are brass and they melt like chocolate in august.
