Title: retr0brite on non yellowed caps
Post by: tauburn on Wed, 10 April 2013, 13:34:18
I was wondering, if i were to take any set of keycaps and use retro brite on them would it change the colour of the plastic?

such as taking a set of black keys and make them into grey.

I'm pretty sure it'll work...ish. You'll need to do it for some excessive times, and the results will likely be uneven.  Basically you'll be intentionally doing a bad retrobrite job.

To get it more even I would recommend not doing the gel, but just using a peroxide/oxyclean solution and agitating periodically to make sure to not have dark spots where things float or touch the container and such.
