Title: Razer Goliathus Extended Mouse Pad
Post by: csloan1218 on Wed, 10 April 2013, 23:17:28
I was wondering if anyone had this pad and could give some feedback on it.

Or another deskmat similar.

Not exactly sure what he means by "sheds" but I've been using that exact pad for about two years and I love the thing. Best thing about it is the stitched edge which prevents fraying

Can you post some pics, after 2 years of use your pad is a great example

You could check out the 314 reviews of it on Amazon.  I found a review that mentions the shedding. "The cloth material generates a huge amount of lint that gets everywhere on the underside of the mouse including the laser compartment."  Since there are not many reviews like this, I would assume that people who experience shedding have something under their mice scratching it.

Most of the shedding gripes seem to be from users of mice like the Razer Orochi, I would hope my g9x wouldn't have the same issues.

I really like mine. I probably won't go back to a normal length mouse mat anytime soon.  I've only had it for 4 months so far, so I can't really comment on durability/shedding yet. Though it does feel like it will last.

I found it collected dust easily and caused me sensei to skip. Switched to an artisan pad, and won't go back. The goliath does make a nice pad on the desk though.

I'll try to snap some pics here. I just recently moved over to my old eXactMat, so I gotta dig it up. Never had any issues with it creating any "lint", but like all cloth pads it picked up a decent amount of sweat over the years. The only complaint I have about it is that the part under my mousing wrist started curling up a little bit.

I quite like the Extended version.

Just a note, don't wash it in water lol.
I did that to one, and it just got destroyed lol :(

i normally just get a really soft towel, wet it a bit (not too much) and just wipe it down.
Seems to have worked for me, but not sure if the mousepad of mine which got destroyed was a bad batch or not.
So probably a good idea to just try it out on a small area of the mousepad which you don't normally use, just in case :)
