Title: M Tenkeyless Mod - Green Minilishi
Post by: E TwentyNine on Fri, 12 April 2013, 16:15:17
My industrial SSK is currently in a box, keeping it safe for the moment.

But I needed a daily driver that was tenkeyless, and I have a bunch of 1391401 sitting around doing nothing.

So I hacked the numpad off one and I present, The Green Minilishi (with the two tone paint):

Outer case is satin green, the inset and the feet are flat black.   I dyed the IBM logo green, but put it back to white:

You can see my (lack of) skill in case modification, but it's much less apparent in person.  The seam of the cut follows the groove normally there except at the top and bottom, and at the bottom I did the patch better.

And the logo still has some green it it, I may need to print one up and replace that.

Not perfect, but was a fun little project and now I have my tenkeyless M again.

Was going to dye the keys green but now that Unicomp is going to be offering color legends I may go with a green on gray set.

Looks very good considering the way you attached the cut side, BTW do a better paint job men....

I was using it white for a few weeks then decided I wanted it green....

I was hoping the textured satin paint would cover that up better, no such luck.   Doesn't look as splotchy in person.

May hit it again with something else or put it in a different case, but for now I'm happy with it.

Very nice job! Did you just fold the membranes?

Yep, just membrane folded over.  Fits pretty snugly in the case because of that.
