Title: Topre keycaps
Post by: KuhnTang on Thu, 18 April 2013, 22:00:56
Now that I have a RF I need some caps.  Do GB's ever go through for topre keycaps, or is our only choice whats on EK?

SP doesn't have the molds for Topre keycaps. It might be outstanding patent protections.

Does anyone know of people besides click clack that do novelty keys for topre? ... Or maybe a mx to topre adapter thingy?

Well the EK caps are the only option, but they are a pretty good option.  They are made in Japan by the Topre Corporation, and come in a really great box, that has a very official looking label.   They are all PBT, and feel as good, if not better than the stock caps.  They are actually pretty much identical to the stock caps with minor differences in the legends.  One slight bugaboo is that they come with ABS space bars, and they are expensive.  So I guess that's two bugaboo's.  Anyway, they are great.  I have a pink set (aka "cherry blossom"), and a blue set.  Both are great.

^Hell yeah...the box is the best freaking part about Topre caps.  No more fishing for the right keys mang!
