Hey guys i'm new :D
Just wondering what sort of keys are in a Microsoft Sidewinder X4 and where could i get them.
Any help would be grateful or tips to do things with it.
-
It's an ordinary rubber dome over membrane keyboard. Its keys have profile that is completely different from anything else (except X6, obviously).
-
Does this mean i could not get custom keys? Or would i have to make them?
-
You could make them, but it wouldn't be worth it.

No custom keys. This forum is 99.9% mechanical keyboards, we don't take kindly to other keyboards around here. jk :)
I had a x4 a long time ago, I hated the small keys, returned it after a couple days, bought a mechanical keyboard and haven't looked back.

You do realize that the only difference between "gaming" keyboards and typing keyboards is quality, and a few extra keys that you'll never use because they're out of the way, right?
Of course, the quality side leans in favour of the typing based keyboards, like CM Storm QFR, Filco, WASD V2, Matias, Realforce, etc. You'll be a lot happier with any of those just mentioned... I promise, I'm a competitive gamer.
