I'm looking for a 100% scale board with MX White (can be TKL), or a board I could easily convert to MX White. Does anyone know where I could find one?
-
MechanicalKeyboards.com sells a Pure in MX Whites. I'm typing on one now. But it's a 60% board.
-
It doesn't have arrow keys

I have a Race with whites! I bought it from Qtan when they first came out...lemme see if they are still available. Coz yes, they have arrows.

VOILA! White switch race!
-
Thanks, but I don't like the odd shaped keys :p
-
Why you so difficult Pointy! :p
Well if anyone is going to make a white TKL, it'll be Ducky I'm sure.
Unless you make a Phantom with whites.
-
How do I make a phantom? I think the GBs are closed for them?

You'll need a phantom PCB and plate, which are both closed/shipped
plus a case, switches, stabilizers, and caps.....

Mmm I think they are. I would make a WTB Phantom PCB thread maybe. But finding white switches may be tricky as well.
How are your soldering skills?

dangwang on DT is auctioning a phantom ansi layout with 55g whites

I saw that deck has some boards that come with white switches, if you don't mind the disco lights and the price tag.

Decks have MX Clears, the heavier tactile switch. MX Whites are soft clicky switches more similar to Blues.

Ah youre right I was mistaken.
I knew they were uncommon, atleast for the boards I was looking at

Step #1: Find someone who can handle a Taobao transaction.
Step #2: Give them this: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.10.1.TyB1re&id=22625184812

The white shaft very special, the general novice players are just beginning are very difficult to manage.

Oh, that's nice! I especially like the one with green legends!
Let's see, 698.00 renminbi is about $113.00, plus shipping (twice), handling, and the Taobao agent surcharge... $175.00? Tempting, tempting...

I may throw down money on white shaft being clear and milk being white.
If you can solder Pointy, get some white switches, and just swap them in your board of choice, then sell other switches :)

Good point. By the way, taking a close look at the Taobao ad, those are clear switches. I have a board with white switches, and they are much more opaque. Plus, the white switches have a little nub on the slider (that came out sounding all wrong...) that isn't visible on the Keycool switches.

That might take a while. Desoldering is much harder than soldering, especially with something that has more than one solder point

The linked Keycool is MX White and most definitely not Milk.
As in it is 80cN clicky.
As in help me pester MK till they order a batch of that exact board. Because it is apparently phenomenal.
-
Milk = Clear
-
If I remember correctly "milk" refers to mx whites while "white" refers to mx clears.
-
milk = white correct not clear, KBT/Vortex/whatever even says Milk on the box
heh whites are really nice but are a bit heavy but some people like that, they are the best sounding switches in my opinion of all of them, better than blue.
never shared this but i completely destroyed a bunch of my white switches that originated from the special RACE (they eventually got desoldered and put on poker). It was when i was doing some experimenting with different springs, adding stickers, and adding lube. it was my first time opening up switches and messed up things like the metal leaf things as well as over-lubing switches which removes the click. still need to go through and recover what i can salvage; such a mess.
