Just came across this posting for an HHKB Pro2 in the US for $240, if anyone is interested.

Hmm. I just went to a computer shop in San Jose that sold a new HHK Pro for $270.
-
No way would I pay over $200 for a used HHKB pro. (I don't care HOW slightly used it is)
But that's just me.

In Japan, a new HHK Pro costs about $240 (25K yen including tax) now.
And I agree that it's too expensive considering that a Realforce keyboard, which
uses the same technology and more keyboard parts, costs about $120 or less.
But how'd you get yours for less $$, iMav?

I never said I got mine for less. In fact, my keyboard is a hybrid between a pro 1 and a pro 2...so it cost me nearly $600. ;)
What I said was, I would not pay over $200 for a USED HHKB Pro (regardless of how little it was used). Unless something is simply not attainable new, I don't really value used all that much. (ESPECIALLY something that I am touching all day long) AFAIC, if it is pre-owned, that's a good 50% off the value gone right there.
(I, of course, can appreciate that others don't feel the same way I do)

oops. sorry, i skipped the "used" part. yeah.
a HHK pro 1 and 2 hybrid... you know, i never seen anyone using
such a luxurious keyboard.

That's mine.

That listing is for the same model HHKB Pro 2 I have, funny. I think it's the best looking one of the bunch.
I got mine used for $200, so I even fit into iMav's demographic! I wanted the exact one when it came up on eBay. Then months later the selled registered here. I still like it a lot, they are really cool keyboards, and the only one I've had longer than the Pro 2 is the Model M so that 's saying something.

The price in Japan is below Y20000,- which is slightly below $200.

i think the main draw might be the convenience, seeing as he's in the us and it doesn't need to be imported...anyway, maybe he'll drop the price. thinking of grabbing it, but don't think there's a big enough difference in price between 1 and 2 to justify it (although i do like the black). what's the store in san jose that sells them?

I'm not in the US.

It's User's Side USA (http://siliconvalley.citysearch.com/profile/900486/san_jose_ca/user_s_side.html).
They also sell Realforce keyboards. So you might want to try it out if you have a chance to go there.
