(I know most will just say Cherry)Cherry :p
3. Wait for IvanIvanovich to run a GMK full set buy and hopefully CCnB theme will be an option.
I love my cherry DS way more than any of my SP sets. I love the look of most of the SP sets that have come out/are coming out, but when it comes to typing, I'd take an ugly cherry set everyday.
Neither :o . You should try to find some set made by Tai-Hao. They are only ones that make OEM, they are thicker like Cherry. Even though I strongly dislike OEM high and insist that Cherry profile should be only that exists, some people don't share my opinion.Show Image(http://p.globalsources.com/IMAGES/PDT/B1059400945/Keycaps.jpg)
They also make some funny really short and flat rubber doubleshots...
I know quite a few that would like OEM doubleshots and Tai-Hao (http://www.tai-hao.com/) could be the answer, someone should do some work to get in touch with them and try and make a groupbuy for them or something.

So here's the update, they e-mailed me back saying the MOQ is 500 units. =______=
Price per set is USD $6.50 and the keycaps are made in Taiwan. I've e-mailed her back to confirm that it's $6.50 per set (aka 104 keys) to make sure she didn't misunderstood me, though I haven't got a reply yet.
Also another news is that Sherryton seems to have came back, so I've ordered a Cherry Olivetti double shot from him and have got a shipping tracking number already. I'll let you guys know when I actually gets it. :D

Noob question here, where can I order through Sherryton? Can you give me a link?
Thanks! :D

I think it's $6.50 per set for the 37 key / alpha series, if it is the actual price, I wouldn't mind ordering 2 sets of it!

lol that's why when I read it I'm like WTFBBQ?!?!?!?!?! So I've sent another e-mail to double check but they haven't got back to me yet :(
So yes it's confirmed that 104 key per set sells at $6.50 each
Now the problem with the spacebar. Not sure what we'd do but worst case scenario I guess everyone can order their own from WASD Keyboards also :P
Wonder if the colours would match though. WASD yellow is very pale, for example.
lol another e-mail, those guys reply FAST !!!
1. Yes, we can support blank keys (without letter printing) for windows & manu keys – 1x1 or 1x1.25 size are all available.
2. My quotation didn’t include metal bar and plastic parts under the keys.. Besides, I don’t know whether our keys which need metal bar and plastic parts are suitable for Filco keyboard or not.. \
3. Now the major problem is spacebar. We only have spacebar size at 1x5 and 1x7, no 1x6.25..
I'm assuming the stabilizers shouldn't be a problem might just need to order the plastic clip from WASD Keyboards for those that uses a Costar type.
And seems like it's possible to do blanks for win and menu key so that's taken care of.

*encourages Hyde to do interest check*
sign me up for a few lol this is crazy price, the space bar would be a problem but that just means i wouldn't use it on the 1.25 keyboards, got enough SP for those 1.25 layouts anywayz.
Get some blank 1x, 2x, and 1.5x and you would be a HERO for ergodox users lol but it sounds like only the 1x would be possible, one can dream though lol.
Forget the IC. Someone drop three gees and get us these keys now. Sell them for $7 and make a nice profit for youz self.
IC?
IC?
Hahaha $6 for a full 104 key set? They must think that we will order 25000 sets or something :DGratz for 1k posts :D
we can do IC, but who will actually do all the packaging,collecting,delivering.... I don't have any experience in GB, but I wouldn't mind a little help. If someone that lives near Tampa Fl wants to pitch in, as solo not sure how will I handle, will think about it and ask Lysol for some tips on wrapping up GB's.
At ~$7 per set, I could see avoiding a lot of the "colour combination" battles.what you mean you have no boards suitable for it, from the pic that GH member posted they make them full 104 ANSI sets and only window and page modifiers are not DS but pad printed.... We can have those modifiers in blanks. Maeby we can have few more keys as add on like ISO enter, maeby bottom modifiers x1 in blanks for 1800 boards, maeby they do make the small shift's..... all of this questions need to be asked of what is or isn't possible to add on to make the set more suitable for broader people.
Want red modifiers and a black main set? Buy a red set, and a black set. Fourteen bucks. Throw the rest out the window for all we care.
In spite of having no boards suitable for it, I'd be in for a red set and a black one at that price.
Personally, I also like the typography better than the STOCK Signature Plastics typography. SP's font looks good on a retro setup with big legends, centered legends, that sort of thing. However, for a modern look, like CCnG or Klaxon or the like, it just seems like an unwanted baggage.
Costar stabilisers: Why can't you just pull them from your stock caps? Admittedly, that doesn't help Phantom/etc owners, but maybe they can salvage some from a dead board, or order them after-market.
Would love to get a couple blank set at this price! Why blank when you could get DoubleShot?
Why blank when you could get DoubleShot?
I can understand the layouts but cheap isn't really a factor right now is it.Why blank when you could get DoubleShot?
Because it's an option, colemak, devorak, they're cheap, etc.
Sorry, I am new to this but you are talking about why I chose not to get letters on the keycaps right? In this case where DoubleShots are only 6.50 yes, you should take advantage of how cheap they are... You can get OEM blanks in lots of places, but nowhere else would you find DoubleShots for 6.50. If you don't know what DoubleShot means yet: http://deskthority.net/wiki/Doubleshot
You might want to have a look at this thread regarding the Tai-Hao keycaps: http://deskthority.net/photos-videos-f8/taiwan-tai-hao-doubleshots-t5028.html
lol damn it no one's doing it eh? Maybe we should make a post in interest check to see if anyone will step up to run it :P
The deskthority page shows those weird rubber caps for ALPS, which suggests they're at least aware of ALPS switches.
If they made an ALPS set I could see there being a lot of pent-up demand because there's simply no alternative to scavenging used boards.
Wouldn't starting a GB be better because you'd still need 500 orders to complete the GB. Create a google doc and have people submit their orders and wait until it reaches MOQ?

Maybe, but Hyde didn't want to run the GB. I think doing the Google doc thing for IC in addition to looking for someone to run it would be a good idea.
I dont mind a yellow set :D
