Title: [Question] Drawing custom keycaps
Post by: feyd on Sun, 28 April 2013, 12:32:50
Hi everyone!

I was asking how to mod my keyboard, I need wirte in 3 alphabets, and I wonder how can I drawn characters in my keycaps to look like a comercial keyboard and not like a homemade.

What technics can you recomend me? Stencil?

Stencil will probably not be your best option, I highly doubt that the letters will come out very clean (or even readable if you're not very careful). An idea might be to buy keyboard stickers and cut out the letters. This will be the same amount of work since you would have to do the same for a stencil.

Also you could always get custom keycaps from WASD Keyboards but that is of course a lot more expensive.

What alphabets?  Could be as simple as getting keyboard stickers (clear background) and put one on the top and one on the side of each key.

Design your keycaps in your gfx software on your computer and upload them to WASDkeyboards.com custom keyboard designer.

This option requires using a Cherry MX switch compatible keyboard.
