Title: OEM's and their differences

I'm new to GH as well as mechanical keyboards, so forgive my ignorance.  I joined because my research on keyboards has lead me here time and time again.  Anyway, on to the actual topic:
I couldn't help but notice how alike Monoprice, Max Nighthawk, and Xarmor keyboards look.  It's fairly obvious that it's an OEM deal, but how alike are they otherwise?  I've heard really good things about Max's boards, so how would they compare to one of Monoprice's illuminated boards?
All input is appreciated, even/especially harsh critiques on my observations  ;D
