I have a KVM that relies on a soft switch (double tapping scroll lock) to switch back and forth.
Q: How do I double tap scroll lock on the KVM? - I read another post that scroll lock = (shift + num lock) but this didn't work for me.
any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Has no one encountered this before? I know I'm not the only person alive with a KVM and a RF.
Please help, this is annoying having to switch back and forth. I brought out a second keyboard so I can avoid the hassle.

Maybe you could use some sort of program to temporarily switch Scroll Lock to another key such that you don't have to hold shift to activate it and try then? Sounds like a possible problem in the firmware of the KVM, or maybe a feature that tries to eliminate switching when it's not intended, thus not counting it when shift is being held down.

A more important question...
Why are you using scroll lock? lol

Because it's built into the firmware to switch on a double tap of scroll lock, such as is stated in the first post.

A software solution won't cut it, as the KVM hardware reads the scan code directly from the keyboard before it makes to either machine.
Unfortunately I don't think you're going to find a solution for a 87U. a 103/4 UB would solve it, but the way the 87U's are set up I don't think you're going to be able to use it with your KVM unless you can set your KVM to use another key, or unless your KVM has a hardware switch.
