Title: Long time lurker, decided to register
Post by: Ninjerk on Wed, 01 May 2013, 00:46:05
Hi guys, decided to register.

Long time lurker - mostly reading the mechanical keyboards sections.

I'm a 32 year old former IBMer, who's been using membrane boards up until last year when I switched to a "Razor Blackwidow" keyboard with those Cherry MX Blue Switches and lately salvaged a Model M keyboard. It looks brand new due to taking pieces from multiple boards and putting this thing together. I love this thing.

Anyways, I'm glad to be around people who "get" me :)

Welcome to geekhack. I assume by IBMer, that means you worked with them? Or you typed on IBM keyboards?

I love buckling springs personally. They're awesome. Do you like beer? We have beer threads!

I was an employee for a long time.

Oddly, all keyboards I used @ IBM were membrane boards. These ones:

And I didn't start using Model M keyboards until I joined a financial company that uses mainframes and still has ancient equipment being run.
