Title: broad band series test system keyboard? huh?
Post by: berserkfan on Wed, 01 May 2013, 07:22:38
I don't know anything about the price and have no intention of bidding, but I find this keyboard very interesting. Wonder what a 'broadband series test system' is.

Ivan, can you enlighten us lesser geeks why you need a special keyboard to test networking equipment? this doesn't exactly look mobile. I can't imagine a technician walking around with this

Back in the not too distant past I certainly could.  It's not the keyboard that's special.  It's the whole unit: Link (http://www.equipland.com/ccp1399-agilent-hp-e4200b-broadband-series-test-system-28b-e4200b-tsm198.htm).  Be sure to check out the pictures.

OMG, you really made my day.

That thing must have been 20lbs. And it actually has a 4gb hard disk drive - which was like what, godly powerful for something dating from the 1990s?

"The E4200B Form-7 chassis is designed for transportable use and is a popular choice for field trials"

Ah yes, back in those days when 3 pounds was considered light for a 'mobile' phone with a 1-foot antenna.

This lesser geek has learned something.  ;D
