Title: Any predictions on the K95?
Post by: MakeshiftMuse on Sun, 05 May 2013, 11:53:37
I've been looking at this keyboard, set to release on 5/21, and it looks pretty sweet to me.  I dig the individual LED setting feature.  Anyone have any predictions on how this thing will do?  I'm debating whether I should order a board now, maybe a Nighthawk, or wait for the K95.

Have you considered Ducky keyboards if you're interested in backlighting?

Corsair's keyboards got a bad rep for the half-mechanical K90. Max Nighthawks get a bad rep for being manufactured by iOne, who made other low quality boards. I'm actually typing on my Nighthawk X8 which I like a lot, but I would only recommend getting one when on promotion since $140-150 is a lot to ask when Ducky Shine IIs can be had for the same price.

The K95 looks to have an iOne layout as well (1x window/menu keys)

For the money I'd go for a Ducky even though it doesn't have macro keys

Where can I get a good deal on a Shine II?  Or... did I hear a rumor about a new Shine?  I really don't care about macros.  I guess I got excited over a somewhat gimmicky feature; individual LED controls.  It would be cool, but I'd probably end up having them all either on or off.

K95 is fully mechanical and is not a product of IONE.

I like how you have the ability to turn on or off each LED individually and can save three light profiles to the onboard memory.
