Title: Cherry MX Green
Post by: NDA on Fri, 10 May 2013, 14:07:14
Hi,

I am looking for a keyboard that comes equipped with these keys. I have done a little research and I have come across only 3 keyboards 2 Cooler master and one Ducky keyboard that have the cherry MX Green keys, but the Ducky no longer seems available.

Is there any place that would still have the Ducky keyboard with green keys still in stock. I would prefer this over the cooler master keyboards because I am not sure the quality or even the oem of their keyboards they seem to be just alright from my findings.

The CM QFR and Trigger are Costar made, and are of good quality. You shouldn't worry about buying one of them.

That is good to know. I am still interested in the ducky though is there any place that still carries it. I realize it was a limited edition keyboard but I just figured there might still be some out there.

In any case if not I guess I will have to settle for one of the cooler master boards.

I'm also on the hunt for a cherry green keyboard.  The ducky to which you refer was a limited run, and none of the distributors expect to see any more.

Are you looking for a TKL or a full 104 keyboard?

Depends where you're from, and what kind of layout are you looking for. I know a place for the ducky, tho its 105 keys nordic layout

AFAIK, only those that you already mentioned has mx greens. Ducky's PCB is higher quality, but that shouldn't matter if you're never going to open them up.

Let me know if you decide to get a full-size keyboard.  I've got the CM Storm Trigger keyboard for sale, it's actually 109 keys (5 extra macro keys).   ;D

Actually I am not partial to any keyboard size or layout as long as it has the green keys and preferably not a cooler master I am fine. I have had a bad experience with a cooler master keyboard in the past, although I feel the ducky brand would be ideal.

Ducky is not exactly known for quality for the amount of money you have to pay.

coolermaster keyboards do not all come from the same manufacturer. The Quickfire Rapid w/ mx greens is a very solid board–i've had one for several months now that has been opened and modified and still going strong.

The original 1008 series boards were only seen as mediocre quality, but later models have very good reputations.

It appears the only ducky keyboard that had the green keys was a limited edition run, so unfortunately I am stuck with Cooler master unless there is another brand out there that has these keys.

I've got the Leopold F660M from qtan referenced by rowdy as well as the Ducky 9008G2 available here (http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=467) from MechanicalKeyboards.com

They're both solid boards, though I'm having more trouble adjusting to the Leopold layout than a Poker II, which surprises me and I'd suggest the full size board if this is gonna be a daily driver.
