been meaning to make one for a while, i know there must be some other GH biker geeks ;)
so riding stories/post your bike. lets get this going

been riding since i was legally allowed, 3.5years now
****ING love bikes, my other passion...i want to tour the world, also got some tattoos in my mind; bio mech engine heart on my chest, autonomy with a twisting throttle arrow round it on my right wrist (throttle wrist)
gorgeous girl on the back, glorious bike underneath, stunning road under that...and a hefty bank account balance = living the dream

Peugeot ludix 2 stroke 50cc
first beast put a LED and bigger headlight mod in this bad boy....bought her for 300quid spent and now my brother spends a fortune trying to keep her ****ing running, quickers 2t scooter...and most unreliable...had nearly a full engine replacement and god knows what else...our mechanic cant fix it claims its possesed been with him on and off for year.
had 1 or 2 slips at like 3mph in the wet, only proper crash was on ice and i binned it into the pavement, broken panel keep on going :)

Honda varadero v-twin 125cc bought at 1100gbp 2002 2500miles on the clock, sold at 1000gbp 12,000 on the clock :D
First bigger bike, after 6 months on the scooter, brilliant bike never fixed anything but fork seals in 14 months of owning her, topped out at 80mph downhill wind behind her, loved that bike had one crash where i did an s bend and low sided in like a pendulum effect, first propper off

****ing wore jeans not my armoured trousers for first time in months...:@, elbow is still a bit errr mushy and knee just aches in colder weather it got infected at the time too, nice scar.
Drove to the bike shop got a quote to fix it, cleaned out my legs, made my jeans into shorts then drove to hospital for x rays on the bike i had just crashed ^^

latest bike, first proper big one, selling her now...tonnes of mods. Bandit N600 2003
down geared, new HID projector headlights, new levers and shifters all round, crash bungs, new gel seat, fly screen, belly pan, blue flame exhaust, bar end mirrors, renthal bars.
bought for 1100gbp spent 400 or so fixing the idiot who hads it befores error, new headlights as head ricer ****ty ones which were like a torch, replaced chain and full front brakes system because he wore through the disk
never dropped it, had a few clsoe calls the first week...to much power in 1st/2nd, lost back wheel in the wet etc...was fun! love this bike but time for a change good first foray into bigger cc bikes, she handles okayish and is a bit err of a common bike but i made her my own...oh and apeture stickers :D

Honda vfr499 1991
New bike im getting after this sells...guy wants 1800gbp, original 1991 honda vfr400cc...amaxing bike quicker than the bandit, lighter, handles like its on rails...going to track day, spring and hill climb it with and old set of beaten up panels.
mods to do: crash bungs, new mirrors, inner pannel (tiny) missing, big bore to 444cc(expensive but 25% power increase), already has a blue flame can also gunna rejet it and dyno...they finally add ons ome sv650 bar riders as the vfr is like a ****ing tron bike in the way you sit

CBR 250???

ah cbr500r....thats still whacking out 50hp for a beginner, my rvf400 will only makes 60bhp stock (admittedly its a v4...yes a v4 not i4) and ive been riding coming on 4year, and its still more fun than my bandit600. get a 250. i was on a 125 for 14 months learning, speed limits are low here but even on the open road you certainly dont need more than a 250, they are still quicker than most cars on the road.
maybe look at something smaller.
also the cbr500 is a new bike...those panels and the thought of dropping a new bike will be expensive....buy used, you will drop it. also its still whacking out 110+ top end and a 0-60 in sub 6s

your first bike is a learner not a keeper look at my bike history

^  haha, that's what I told him but he said he doesn't want to buy another bike down the road.  :)   Myself, I started on a Honda CR125 or something rather at the tender age of 14 and then proceed to Honda CB500, Yamaha FZR400RR (Japanese spec) and now I want either that same bike as demik or a Ducati Monster 696....  awaiting approval from the wifey. lol


Damn Ducati is near 10k here in US.  With tax and other crap, it'd probably be over 10k out the door.

i did buy/sell cheapish they are expensive bikes new, but 2200GBP for one that old is a ****ing joke, i paid half that for my bandit which needed a little work

Sorry its a US thing.  I am very much for "MADE IN USA" so the bikes i would be looking at getting are all cubic inch engine displacements.

Mm, that duke looks pretty delicious, I sorta contemplated on whether to get a duke 3 when they first came out, but I can't really be arsed to "downgrade" to a smaller bike :c. And what the hell 24? I've been able to drive any bike since I was 20 :0

its not the age, i can ride any bike i can afford now at 19 here (uk is some **** like 5 years for a full license), anyway i reckon 24 for the duke because of the ****ing cost...its going to be like 12,000-14,000GBP or some ****
will try get a used one matte black for sub 10k

I did a 500+ motorbike rally for holidays for heroes on sunday, here are some pics
after the rally went out with some other guys on bandits and a guy on a mad orange rs250 2 stroke, thing wheelied everywhere...was putting out 50+bhp and needed a rebuild every 100hours or so, also pulled off my first proper wheelie on the bandit, this resulted in xcrushed nuts. then i tried burnouts too, which were fun.
fyi bandits are certainly not wheelie machines, at least not off the power, but they will clutch up
