D1/D2 fan here -- I hate this game. For me, D3 is the biggest disappointment for a game.
-
It's been as low as $10 a few times, I wouldn't really label this as a great deal considering how the game turned out.
-
it just needs weekly patches with new bossfights and such and it would be the most awesome game evuuur.
Its way to short
-
I think they've made an incredible amount of improvement since the launch and it's totally worth playing now.

Good point, wait... what was it again?

As much as I enjoyed D3 for a couple of months I can't recommend it. The game is solely items/equipment dependent. Nothing else matters. On top of that the auction house has ruined the economy pretty much.
-
Not worth the $40.
-
I was so excited when it came out. Even waited an hour in line at the Cebit to play the Beta. Way to short and all the "simplification" of the character building ruined the game for me.
-
Always online DRM for a game with single player content? Not even once, and I loved Diablo 2.
-
If I never played it I'd get it for $20. Since I played it, I would not get another account even for $5.
-
Even though the game wasn't that good i gave it a few hundred hours. It's a shame it wasn't though D2 was so much fun and now this meh. Still enjoyed it for what it is, I feel like the community over-hyped ridiculously much. They were like expecting a new WoW without a monthly fee or something...

I was expecting D2 end patch version (or a bit better) with current graphics. And I don't mean cartoonish graphics. They tailored it to a broader audience, which killed it for D1/D2 fans imo.
-
Not worth it. Despite playing with a few GHers on release, I was still bummed I wasted more than $5 on it.

The primary problem is if you're a D2 fan, you're likely too old to be playing these games.. So, going into it trying to relive that childhood wonder just wouldn't happen..
If you look at the game from a perspective of someone who has just discovered gaming say, 7yrs old, D3 is pretty awesome, even with the absurd gear-grinding.

Yeah, I won't disagree with that. But there are little things that would make me somewhat happier with it. And I'm not talking about some of the main issues like itemization. I'd like it more if it was darker, more gory and eliminate the boss idiotic dialogues. I can't imagine anyone above 12 liking that aspect of the game. Anyway, enough about that.

Who wants to play the original Diablo 1 with me for nostalgia's sake?? :D

my diablo stopped working when I got windows 7.. the colors got all glitchy..
-
I stopped playing around 1 month after release... I should have listened to my instincts on the cartoony art and always online DRM. Sad to see how bad this game was; I miss Blizzard North ;-;
-
D3 was the worst $60 I've spent my entire life. D2 on the other hand is probably one of my absolute favorite games of all time.
-
Ever since blizzard north got out and Activision in blizzard have slowly gone downhill..

There's a fix for that if you're interested.

The BIGGEST problem with D3 is the itemization that made D2 so great. The item grind is not the same without it. That and they ****ing killed Cain.

Not only did they kill him, but a giant butterfly killed him! Shoot, I was going to stop ranting :D
Re D1, so you have a fix for D1... but where am I going to find D1 now? It's been so long my copy is MIA for like 15 years or so.
