Title: Filco Majestouch dying. Loosing key functionality.
Post by: killeraxemannic on Mon, 20 May 2013, 18:02:24
Ok so I have a Majestouch and I am pretty sure it is dying.

It started out by loosing the up arrow, left arrow, end, home, and page down keys. They just stopped working one day. Then about 3 months later it lost the right enter key and the plus key.

I took it apart and did not find anything out of the ordinary. No corrosion or cracks on the circuit board etc.

I was thinking the controller chip that is in the top right corner needs replacement but I have not been able to find one.

Any ideas what to do?

Normally I'd have said you could have a switch or two fail, but that's very rare and seems very improbable to have as many as you say go out.  I suppose it could be the controller (which is wrapped around the top of the arrow keys)... but never heard of that happening.

Is it a Majestouch 2?

I think its the Majestouch 1. It says FKBN104M/EB on the sticker on the back.
