Does anyone know if key caps from a keyboard with my switches fit on mx switches if they are the older type?
-
I don't know what you mean with "the older type", but generally 1x1 Cherry MY caps fit onto Cherry MX stems. More info on that here (http://deskthority.net/wiki/Cherry_MY#Keycap_compatibility_with_Cherry_MX).

I did have a read though that page, i guess I meant to say the older generation of switches.
-
Not sure what you mean, if you can provide pictures, that would be of great benefit.

I am having trouble finding pictures, if you look the link that BlueBär posted there is a couple on there. From what I can see they seem to be similar, I think it is just a case of me finding the right layout.

Which switches? The older MY or older MX?

Would the key caps used on the older generation of MY switches fit current MX swicthes
-
Yes, there was just a Group Buy through inlikeflynn (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=41439.msg828006#msg828006) that harvested caps from Cherry MY7000 boards for MX users. Also mashby has pictures of his Poker with caps from a MY7000 board.

That is interesting, Thanks for the reply :).

MY and MX use all the same keycaps with the exception of bottom row 1.25 keys and stabilized keys on current PBT sets which the MY version is not compatible.

Great that's what i needed to know, Thanks much appreciated
Thanks to everyone for their replies.
