I took this video to show how to solder a QFP44 MCU.
I'm so sorry not to speak in English nor to have added English captions.
In fact, I'm not a fluent English speaker.(Writing is one thing, Speaking's another. ;))
And not accustomed to the whole function of YouTube...
Later, I promise I will record video in English so that you GH members could easily understand. ;)

The tip used in the video is HAKKO T15-CF3 - 3mm in dianeter.

Fantastic technique, my luck I would end up soldering half the pins together and the other half wouldn't get anything at all.

The iron used in the video is HAKKO FM-206 station + FM-2027 iron + T15-CF3 tip.
I usually set the temp to 350 Celsius.

Thanks! If you had a HAKKO FM-206 station, why didn't you hot air SMD solder? Seems a bit odd since everyone seems to prefer to hot air SMD solder over an iron.

Of course, I have an FM-2029 hot air pencil.
In fact, I have HAKKO FR-803 Hotair rework station with various nozzles, too.
I solder small SMD parts with hot air, but not QFP44.
The best soldering quality for QFPs can be done with a proper iron tip.
You will be able to know it if you take a closer look at the toes and hills of the QFP leads with a magnifier.

I also only use tip-and-wire to do them now. I attempted a hot air solder of a TQFP44 and I over-temp'ed it. Destroyed the flash as far as I can tell.

Here in the link above you can see two soldered QFPs.
One is soldered with an iron tip by me.
The other is soldered by SMT machine.
Which one do you think is better? ;)
