Can the hub on the hhkb supply enough juice to read flash drive? When I plug my flash drive in I get "Not enough power for the device"...
Corsair survivor usb 3.0
-
USB 3.0 requires quite a bit more power, thus why the drive won't be read.
-
They only provide 100mv I think, that is barely enough to keep a modern smartphone ticking over, never mind charging it a resonable rate. It is fine for a mouse, but nowhere enough for a USB Drive or a card reader.
-
:( useless hub on my hhkb.
possible to feed the hub more power?
-
Perhaps, but it'd require a mod. You'd need to somehow have external power for the USB.

Nope, USB can only provide 500MV anywho. The hub is only good for mice really... :(
-
ok, thanks for the info.
Now I will be taking about this hhkb :D
-
I don't think it reads USB 2.0 either
-
I had only one usb 2.0 flash drive work on the HHKB hub, a Corsair Flash Voyager others not enough power most mice wont work and draw more than its 100ma. rating. The hub on the HHKB Pro 2 is pretty much a useless feature.

I use my mouse with it. That's what it's good for. Especially when using it on laptops with limited USB ports.

The mice I use a Steelseries Sensi or a Razer Taipan wont work, not enough power. I have not tried others, I have to plug my mouse in my laptop to use it.
-
Probably good enough for a wireless mouse's USB wireless receiver.

That's odd. I fail to see what makes the Sensei take more power than the Logitech G9X (which is what I am using on my HHKB USB port)
-
The MacBookPro system report on usb shows the Sensei requires 200mA the HHKB's is only100mA.
-
Well this sucks. This was literally one of the best things I was looking forward to about a HHKB... Now I don't know what to do.

My advise is not to share high power consumption via the spare port of keyboard.
For laptop, I will use usb hub to share:

For desktop, I will use powered-usb-hub to share:

There is very few devices that work with HHKB hub. Only things I could get to work were mice and headphones (crappy logitech ones, nothing fancy).
