Title: Looking to buy Realforce 87U Tenkeyless 55g (Black)
Post by: libo720 on Tue, 28 May 2013, 19:35:52
Hi guys, i have decided to buy a Realforce 87U Tenkeyless 55g and i am just wondering if Elitekeyboards is the only place to get them. Are there any other cheaper sources to get a brand new one with the key puller, red esc key, and lavender wasd keys?

EliteKeyboards is the only US distributor. Otherwise ordering from Leopold in Korea is an option. I think there are other EU and Australian distributors but I'm not entirely sure.

PCCG has white 87U, albeit variable, for AU$179.

I don't know if you get the extras, but they wouldn't be difficult to find from elsewhere anyway.

Yeah, EK is the easiest option if you want to buy new. Most alternatives involve importing.

Buying used from another GH member will get you the best deal. Although I haven't seen many 55g boards in the classifieds lately.

I have an extra set of lavender wasd and red esc if you need them. I'm sure other do too. But you should definitely throw the keypuller away if you get one. The only thing it's good for is scratching key caps. Actually, it might be good for removing jumpers from motherboards, but that's it.

Is there any particular reason the OP and anyone else in general goes for the uniform Topre boards?

As opposed to the variables?  Seems only variable keyboards are available locally for me.

Variables are best for typing. Unfortunately the weighting varies over the WASD cluster which some here have reported being noticeable.

WASD - which would affect people using such a keyboard for gaming purposes.

Fair enough.

My typing style is sufficiently chaotic that I don't always touch type, and tend to use whatever finger is closest for any key.
