Really, really simple question, going to order a Noppoo choc mini tomorrow, still deciding between red and brown.
Currently I have a Steelseries 6GV2 with Black switches, no issues with it, quite a good keyboard actually.
My issue is with the black switches, I've found that they just take too much to press, so here's my question:
I just want less of a resistance in each key press, which switch should I go for, red or brown?
I'm mainly typing and playing mmo's so I don't need fast tapping, I write kind of lightly, that's all.
When I type too quickly I miss a lot double letters because my second press is too light / fast also I do not bottom out on this too much.

Red feel the lightest to me, even though brown/red have the same weight spring. Red are linear and brown are tactile however, so if you like the feel of registering a key press then you need to go tactile

haha.. sounds like you need ergo-red switches.. they have 45g springs now.. put that in a red, it'll be around 15-25g around the actuation point, vs 45g on standard 60g springs in the red.

Ugh I know! Reds sound ideal for me if they weren't SO light.
But I think this just confirms I should go for browns since it has that tactile feed that I do like from my black switches right? Just wished it didn't fight my fingers away so much.
Thanks for the feedback so far, I really appreciate help in making my silly choice.

Um blacks don't give tactile feedback. Red and blacks are the same with different springs.

browns have a very subtle bump on the stem that if you slowly press down, you'll feel. Once i get going typing thought i cant really feel it. Browns feel slightly heavier than reds due to this.

you could go with a 65g or 62g spring in a red to give it that extra push if you feel that they are too light.

Black switches are linear... Granted if you want to be really picky you could say there's a small change in actuation force when the key activates...
Anyway, do realize that reds would be the next step down in force, but they're a lot lighter, and the inherent effect of a weaker spring is that they return slower (they don't feel nearly as snappy when you release). It more sounds like you want a spring swap to something in between reds and blacks.

Reds will be like Blacks, but with less resistance. You will most likely be bottoming out a lot. Coming from Browns, I thought I'd like Red, but it was just too light and mushy. Browns feel more satisfying, and the bump is quite light. Personal preference, but I like both Black and Brown more than Red.
