Title: Changing the backlit on the CM Storm QuickFire TK
Post by: LoNeWolF on Sat, 01 June 2013, 16:00:57
Hello. I'm a mechanical keyboard newbie and I'm planning to buy my first mechanical keyboard. I've chosen the QuickFire TK with cherry mx brown switches. This may be a stupid question but I read somewhere that it's possible to change the white backlit (around the buttons) by painting the board around the switches into another color, is it true and is it simple?

You might able to change the light reflected on the plate but the light going through your keycaps will still be the same though.

Yes, I figured as much. :) Has anyone done anything like this? Will it be too ugly?

rather than do this, why don't you buy coloured POM or PBT keycaps? the white will shine through the plastic and comeout as whichever colour the plastic is!
