I am very confused. I was under the impression that the Cherry Blue switches were tactile and had a rated lifespan of 20 million key presses.
I have a Das Keyboard Pro and a Cherry G80-3000 which I ordered here:
https://store.mpactinc.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=G80-3000LSCRC-2
The DK Pro has tactile cherry blue switches and as I would expect, the keys are rated for 20 million presses.
However, the G80-3000 also has tactile Cherry Blue switches, and it is rated for 50 million key presses per key. I took off the esc key on each keyboard, and the switches look exactly the same. Same shade of blue and everything.
Was the 50 million rating on the G80-3000 a typo or is something else going on and I am very confused now?

IIRC: The 50 million keystrokes were only for linear switches. This has been discussed here lately. The conclusion was that the notch wears off on the blue and brown switches. They will probably still make contact but lose the tactile/clicky function. Which renders them non-functional from Cherry's point of view.

50 million is for black switches only. Both brown and blue switches have 20 million key presses. I think it's a typo.
BTW, the model is G80-3000LSCRC-2, could you tell me what kind of layout does it have? Does "RC" mean "Republic of China?" If so, are there Chinese characters on the keys?

Ok, thanks for the clarification. The layout on the G80-3000 I have is the standard US qwerty layout, but it also has what appears to be Chinese and Korean symbols on the keys as well as English letters, with the English letters being the boldest and most prominent.
I did notice that the F and J keys do not have notches on them, but that doesn't really bother me.

What's 30 million strokes between friends anyway?

Yeah, by that time, you'll want to try another 'board anyway ;)
