Title: Zentec Cobra keyboard?
Post by: Tarzan on Thu, 06 June 2013, 08:15:53
Found a listing on eBay for a keyboard I'd never heard of, a Zentec Cobra.  Pretty vintage, looks a lot like the Wang/Keytronic keyboard I got about six months ago.  Anyone heard of this brand/model?  Is this just a foam-and-foil variant?

Google searches have some results for Zentec linked to Data General, but Zentec also has a series of patents for microprocessors and keyboard data entry.  Appears to have a DIN connector, I have an adapter for that already...

I have not heard about it before, but it sure looks like a terminal keyboard, so I looked up some more info.
Zentec Cobra was an old-fashioned text terminal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_terminal#Text_terminals). I.e. a pretty dumb device consisting of mostly a screen and keyboard that connected to a mainframe computer.
