Hmmm.... seems like you've grown up already, so it's going to become harder and harder to get lost in videogames, because, you've seen it all..
SC2 is really the only worthwhile game out now that you can "progress in", all of the other games are primarily grinders or reflex based, which have very little progression to stay interesting to seasoned gamers.
Maybe consider getting a new computer, look for an i3 or i5, sandybridge, ivy, haswell. at least 3.3ghz.

Dota2

Dota2
Have to agree with this. When I look at hours played in my Steam account it hurts.

Dota2
+1 :p

Then there are some games you really can never beat -
Skyrim
Just Cause 2
Civ 5
-
Even changing games often I do get bored - it's normal, it's just my brain saying to me: "hey, go outside man!!!"
EVE
Guild Wars 2
League of legends
Dark Souls
Battlefield

i cant run dota 2....nor gw2....same for every other game mentioned :)
nvm ill just watch tons of movies, listen to music and think of a way to kill myself
-
Go running. ^_^ (

Minecraft on a good server. One of the very very few games I didn't grow quickly bored of. And if you finally do, you can start on a new map or try a mod.
Been playing a mod of it called feedthebeast lately. And going to set up a small vanilla server for friends.

What about the original GW? Or, as davkol said, take up running or something. Especially if you're depressed as you hint in your post, physical exercise is one of the better and easier ways to deal with it.

This too. I'm a bit more into weights than cardio myself, but either is good. Most of my excercise has been from climbing lately though. Need to start hitting the weights again since I haven't been able to climb much after school got out.
Also, if you live near a climbing gym try that out.
Nothing compared to good outdoor climding, but still quite fun.

Well you must be running a right toaster piece of ****e then, sorry lad. Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 are both excellent and will provide a few hundred hours of entertainment, plus the first one just got a HD remake that still has very low specs. Also try Civilization 4, and Rome Total War. If you really want unlimited hours of old school gaming go for Might and Magic 7 or 8. It's like an Elder Scrolls game before they were any good, and has an almost endless open world and crazy intricate crafting. One series I do truly miss.

Speaking of RPGs, Jeff Vogel (http://www.spiderwebsoftware.com/) has made some *amazing* stuff.
-
I do suggest you to find some friends to play along.
The worst game is the best game when you do have some good friends to play with.
That's my own recipe to avoid depression dude - whatever you do try to get close to people!

i played minecraft for some months, then i got tired of playing on a 800x600 widndow....

i know exactly how you feel. played wow for a couple of years with well over 280 days played (6700+ hours ) on my account and i've been lost ever since i stopped playing. i tried subbing diablo 3, halo, fallout but nothing was as good as wow for me. tp4 might be right. i think might be getting too old for games.
-
Diablo 2 can be run on relatively low specs and is fun as hell. Plus its so much fun with friends. Maybe TorchLight 2 would run on your computer as well? ^__^
-
maybe i should just throw my pc outta da window and start developing a real life......

Is your screen 800x600 or can you not run it higher for slowdown reasons?
If it's the latter try optifine.
-
Oh and I also recommend Starcraft Broodwar :D
-
Vindictus and Mabinogi are good games if you don't mind the pay-to-win scheme lol. [seriously these games are really good if you have the money like maybe ~30-50 one time payment to pay for pets or other seriously useful things]

Oooh I remember Broodwar.. Good game..
I remember playing GTA and Civilization which kept me occupied for a bit.

Warframe. Free to play, play to win, pay if you don't want to play so much.
-
Rome Total War Gold Edition is just $1 on Steam right now, you can't possibly go wrong.
-
Country Justice: Revenge of the Rednecks
just kidding. Disregard that game. Tribes feels really grindy, so you can spend time on it I guess.
-
borderlands 2
civilization 5
battlefield 3
top of my head, those are the games I spent my most time on.
-
You could spend time on a Minecraft server. GH has a server if you hop in the IRC and ask.
-
Do you have Minecraft? I'd look for a good server running one of the Technic launcher mods or Feed the Beast. These mods are fantastic and engaging. They add countless new possibilities and ways to play the game. There's a ton of new machines, programmable computers, new power sources, transport pipes, and endless possibilities.
