You can. Just learn it. Took like a week for me to get it to a useableish point and that was with uni taking most of my time. And I was learning colemak so the keys weren't even where I was used to with two fingering.

I guess in a way I sort of can touch type, every now and a again I sort of get "in the zone" so to speak and can type without looking down. So as you it would just take some practice, perhaps I will give it a try.
I am also in uni at the moment studying Computer Science, What you studying? :P
