Title: Vintage Blacks vs Standard Blacks?
Post by: y0fate on Thu, 13 June 2013, 04:47:26
I'm just wondering if there is any NOTICEABLE difference (IE. not 60g vs 62g springs), are they rare or sought after?

I can't answer this for you, but you may post this kind of thread in keyboards section if you'd prefer. Up to you :)

This is also a good thread to post things like this in - http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=40501.0 but it is ultimately up to you.

They're not that rare. You can find them in lots and lots of old Cherry boards which sell for cheap. You will just need to desolder them.

They are supposedly smoother although I have never tried them so I cannot comment.

Also, as Jocelyn suggested you should post this kind of thing in the simple questions simple answers thread. People can reference you to links that should answer your questions.

No it's okay. It's hard to search geekhack imo and I recommend you google site:geekhack.org instead. No worries on not searching, I was letting you know it is okay to post in keyboard section even if you start new thread. No need to off topic.
That way more people will see your thread :)

Then if you were to just lube regular blacks wouldn't it be almost identical to Vintage Blacks?
