Doubleshot keycaps, should have clear switch, German layout. Probably 2KRO.

Thanks!
Darn it, was hoping that it might be old enough to be nkro.
Well, gonna follow it anyways. MAybe I can get a cheap ride into the mechanical world with it.

Most 3000 models are only 2KRO, though there are some with NKRO. Unless you can see diode under the stem, and not just a jumper wire is only way to tell for sure. Model number is usually not enough, though the /09 says it's a later revision so it is not as likely. Even still, if it is a good price you get some clear switch and doubleshot keycaps so it can still be worth buying. Even 2KRO is fine for any non-gaming for most people. Even then it depends a lot on what games you play, some the 2KRO is not a problem like most RPG for example.

I tried the classic quick-brown-fox test with an old winkeyless G80-3000 HFD from 1994 and it went perfect:

THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG

There are no diodes visible in the switches under the stems (like on a G80-1000), just 5 diodes visible on the whole PCB

Meanwhile on a modern G80-3000 with USB I get this:

HE QUIK BROWN FO JUPS OER HE LA DOG

So I think there's a good chance that you are lucky.

The one I mentioned is supposed to be using a 5 pin Din connector.
Could be an old one then. Im not sure...maybe I should try it :)

Btw: Has anyone heard of AT A-2 KB 2101/2? Supposed to be made by a company named A-2 Technology in Taiwan

Looks pretty good, MX Blue, double shots.

Yeah, you should have got the Cherry IMO, the price it ended at was quite ok for a G80-3000 with 2Shots and MX clears.

I haven't heard of the A-2 before, but from the auction and video it seems descent, and Cherry MX blues are very nice switches (if you are OK with the loud click). The keyboard doesn't seem quite as good as an old Cherry though. Look at the thin keycaps.  I could be wrong here. If it stay under 20€ it's worth buying imo.

The problem with discussing running auctions on GH is always that a swarm of lurkers might read this and become interested ...

The Cherry stayed at 12 € until 5 secs where it went up to 25 € on the last second. Wasn't able to snipe it that fast tbh :)
