I have always liked keyboards and mice, and over the years have bought split keyboards (ala Microsoft) and 3D mice (3D Connexion Space Navigator).
Then in July 2012 I bought myself my first mech keyboard, a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate, after lusting after an IBM Model M as a kid when playing with a friends PS/2. I always knew the Model M was a special keyboard, but didn't really understand or research the difference between a mech and rubber membrane until now (July 2012).
Fast forward one year to today... and I have just bought three four keyboards in the space of as many 3 days
Ducky Shine 2 - MX Brown with White keycaps
ADDED: Ducky G2Pro - MX Brown Dyesub PBT Blue/Grey keycaps
Das Model S Ultimate - MX Blue
Corsair K95 - MX Red
O-Rings and Keycaps to tart up my keyboards
and thinking about switching to Colemak...
I am now almost £450 £600 poorer... my god, what have I become! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!

You've only just begun

You've only just begun
Buy an ergodox, it will cure your current affliction...
You will not look at another keyboard for as long as they don't make a better ergodox... which would be hard since the ergodox has everything already.

Staggered Qwerty is obsolete..
Doesn't matter how much aluminum you slap onto it... obsolete is obsolete...

yeah the other day a friend asked me how much I've spent on keyboards, I replied "meh not that much".
then I decided to do a quick calculation, and it came up to over 1k... :-|

That Model M(F in my case) benchmark is the one where that keyboard world opens itself up revealing how little you actually know vs what you thought you knew, and sets the watermark for how much more money you will be spending in the future. God speed my friend.

It's natural to go through a splurge like that at least once. Eventually after using all the boards for a while you'll develop a sense for what you do and don't like. I did the same thing and I've settled on 3 boards; 2 for work & play and one for travel. But, those bastards at Ducky had to come out with a Shine 3! So, it will be 4 boards I permanently have. Can't shake the sickness.
