Hi guys. I have a bit of an odd request. I have a Filco TKL that I need modded. I would like to have the left control and caps lock switched on the hardware level. I need this mod because of my job. I am unable to install ANYTHING on my pc at work (even itunes or firefox is not allowed). I need someone who is confident and proficient to do this. There was a mod of how to do this, but it seems it has “disappeared” from the web.
I am located in the ny/pa/nj region, and would of course pay for shipping both ways and for your time. Please PM me or post here if this is something that you are able to do and we can take it from there. Also, if someone has an already modded Filco Blue, I would purchase it from you.
Thank you.

You could put an HID liberator into your Filco TKL and program the board as you wanted. I'm actually selling one if you're interested.

All you need is this (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=35065.0) and you can do it yourself. It's pretty much straight forward mod, open case, swap controller and program it to your liking then close the case and you are done.
Edit; Ninja'd

OT - do you have any idea how many tri-state areas there are in the US?

No. I wasn't actually lol. I'll clarify in the OP that it is ny/pa/nj. Sending you a PM CPT. Thanks for the suggestions guys and keep them coming!

HID Liberation device is your best (only?) bet. Should work good. And as a benefit, you can fully program your board to do whatever you want. :)

OP, I've sent you a PM already. Just FYI :D

If you're only swapping these two switches, it shouldn't be too hard, but does require some soldering. All you have to do is cut the traces to each of these switches, then solder in wires to reconnect each of the switch's circuit.

but the controller is a much cleaner solution and the resell value is also going up. :)
and if he has to buy the soldering equipment it is easier to get the controller.

Yup that's true. Custom controller isn't widely available though. I was giving more of a general solution in case anyone else besides OP reads the thread and decides to do hardware remap.
