Title: Some Updates [good news actually]
Post by: Lastpilot on Mon, 01 July 2013, 09:22:49
Interviews for new job went well, I should be hearing back in about two weeks. It is a Library Associate position for the restoration and digitization of historic audio tapes and reel to reels. Met some very cool people who seem really nice and reasonable. School also looks great. I'm really looking forward to this. They told me I was their top choice!

Also passed both civil service tests [9000 and 8100], so now I'm finally "qualified" to apply for government jobs in Louisiana. :]

Baton Rouge seems like an okay place to live. Definitely has its personality. Roads could use some work but man the drivers there are pretty ruthless. Still looking for a decent 1/1 apt, but not putting any money down until I get job confirmation.

Anyway, looks like I'm back online for now. Still keyboardless, but now waiting to buy a Shine 3 TKL. I got hold of a Goldtouch number pad while I was gone :D

Here's hoping you get that job.  I know firsthand how absolutely frustrating the job market is right now.

What library? The reason I asked is that my Mom retired from the State Library system and I know a lot of people there (if they are still there).

I'm originally from there, so if you have any questions or looking for something in particular, I can help.  ;D

Also, the driving changed drastically after the influx from Hurricane Katrina. Traffic was always bad, but it went critical after and now most people drive like New York taxi drivers.  :p

Again, if I can help with anything, please let me know.
