Title: Cleaning Mouse
Post by: neverlast74 on Wed, 03 July 2013, 07:49:27
Steelseries Diablo3 (I have 2) it seems this roughened rubber coating seems to tricky to clean.

- Alcohol is said to make the roughened going away - not sure I want that.
- Water and mild glass and TFT cleaners, I think makes it clean, but very very sticky once dry - so that after 3 days you have more grease than before.
- moistering soap?
- when it comes out of the box do they put silicon on it so it is clean and non sticky but still roughened?

How do you clean your mouse without ruining the rubber?

I've cleaned my mouse with alcohol a lot. Never had any issues. Or you can just try soap and water?

Alcohol swabs. Once a week. And for my pads I use those carpet e upholstery aerosol cleaners.

I cleaned my pads last Saturday.

Do you think those little wipes they give when you order chicken would work as well?

I have a thousand at home maybe i could give them a second use... and my mouse is pretty dirty...

If you don't want to use alcohol you could use baby wipes, but I would say alcohol works better.

Tested and approved : Restaurant Whips (Those you get when you order chicken).

As soon as i was done with the cleaning, you could fool any g33k into thinking it's brand new. Funny thing, is hasn't ruin the rubber griphandleclickyshell.

Yeah i had to use a toothpick too and everything you can extract from it is just horrible stuff.

But the outcome is beautiful. My mouse is as good as new now.

I had previously used one of those alcohol sprays on my Deathadder and it has indeed made the rubber a bit harder.

I would just use a mixture of water and light dish washer detergent.  `

I've spilled coke all over my desk and unfortunately my Sensei got a little mad about it afterwards.

I used a glass cleaner spray and put it on a Q-tip. Like that I could easily clean the lense.
