Title: Filco controller broke?

I noticed the right alt on my Filco started registering as another right Windows key.
It does this with other computers; and when I replaced the controller with another one, the right alt returned to being a right alt.
Do controllers go bad randomly or could something else have cause this?

The Keyboard God likes to be funny sometimes.

Most of the times the controller simply got broken and you cannot type at all.
